In the ever-changing world of education, one thing remains constant: great educators change lives. Yet, the pathways into the profession have not always kept pace with the needs of today’s aspiring educators or the realities of modern classrooms. That’s why we’re proud to share an exciting evolution. Educate-WI is becoming Educate Pathways.
This transformation represents more than a new name. It’s a renewed commitment to providing flexible, high-quality educator preparation programs that help individuals find and follow their unique pathway to certification.
Educate Pathways will continue to offer the same trusted programs: Project Teaching, 10 Sped, WiscAd, and EdNova and the same dedicated team of professionals who have guided so many toward certification and meaningful careers in education. Our new name better reflects the heart of what we do: create pathways that connect passion, purpose, and possibility.
Why “Educate Pathways”?
Names matter. They tell a story. And this change tells ours.
For years, Educate-WI has guided individuals through the process of earning their teaching license or expanding into school leadership. As education evolves, so must the systems that prepare educators for tomorrow’s classrooms. The name Educate Pathways reflects what we’ve always believed.
Every teacher’s journey is unique. Every leader’s growth is personal. By offering multiple educator preparation programs designed for different stages of professional life, Educate Pathways meets individuals where they are and helps them move forward with confidence.
From Educate-WI to Educate Pathways: A Natural Next Step
When Educate-WI launched, our goal was simple: to help aspiring educators gain the training, credentials, and confidence they need to succeed. Over time, our work expanded beyond certification; it became about transformation.
Becoming Educate Pathways allows us to more fully express that mission. Each of our programs represents a distinct route toward professional growth and Wisconsin DPI certification, and together they form a comprehensive ecosystem for developing our next generation of educators and leaders.
Project Teaching: If you hold a bachelor’s degree, Project Teaching offers a streamlined, online route to initial and additional certification in 19 different subject areas including Elementary/Middle (K-9) art, music, science, math, physical education and many more. The program combines coursework, real classroom experience, and one-on-one guidance from experienced educators. It’s ideal for career changers, substitute teachers, or paraprofessionals who have the passion to teach and are ready to turn that passion into a profession.
10 Sped: Special education teachers are essential to building inclusive learning environments. Our 10 Sped program helps educators earn their special education certification through evidence-based instruction and practical application. Participants gain the skills and confidence to support students with diverse learning needs while meeting Wisconsin DPI requirements for special education licensure.
WiscAd: Leadership in education requires more than management skills, it demands vision, empathy, and adaptability. The WiscAd program helps experienced educators take the next step into administration by earning their principal, superintendent, director of special education, director of instruction, or school business manager license. Delivered fully online, WiscAd blends theory, practice, and instructional expertise to prepare leaders who can guide schools with integrity and innovation.
EdNova: Through seven different online workshop options, educators can remove a statutory stipulation from their license, refine their skills, explore emerging best practices, and stay at the forefront of their profession.
Rethinking Flexibility in Teacher Preparation
Education today demands flexible, responsive systems and Educate Pathways is leading that shift. Our online teacher certification programs make it possible to pursue professional goals from anywhere, at your own pace.
We know that balancing work, family, and education isn’t easy. That’s why our programs are designed around the realities of adult learners. Every course is anchored in practical application, supported by experienced instructors, and aligned with Wisconsin DPI certification standards.
Whether you’re starting your journey or reigniting your career, we make earning your educator certification both achievable and affordable.
Leading the Way Forward for Educator Preparation
In an era when teacher shortages dominate headlines, the solution lies not just in recruitment but in rethinking the systems that prepare and sustain educators. At Educate Pathways, we see our work as part of that solution.
We envision a future where teacher preparation is accessible, responsive, and lifelong, a continuous journey of growth rather than a single credentialing moment. Whether it’s helping someone earn their first teacher certification, or move into leadership, we’re building the infrastructure that makes those ambitions achievable.
A New Name, A Continued Commitment
The transition from Educate-WI to Educate Pathways symbolizes progress and it also reaffirms our roots. Our mission has never changed: to empower educators through knowledge, support, and opportunity.
We remain deeply committed to schools, educators, and students. And we’ll continue to be a trusted partner for anyone seeking a clear, achievable route into education whether you’re exploring how to earn a teacher certification, or pursuing a leadership path.
